hi guys, this is my very first post here, as just bought a lovely 2004 330 convertible!

I wonder if anyone could help on this problem -

generally, it seems the temperature of the climate control is a bit eratic, and blows cold out the middle vents whilst blowing warm at the windscreen and under the dash. It gets too warm when on 22, even with the cold of the vents, so have to do a combination of turning the temp down, and also manually bringing the fan speed down. Oh, it seems to blow quite hard all the time too (about half way up the scale) even if the temp I would say is about right.

If you put it to 16, it does get colder, and then up to 28, it gets warmer (with the dash vents stopping kicking out cold by then)
But it all seems a bit wrong! The gas in the aircon seems to be cold enough when pushed.

I look forward to your comments!!

oh, also I should add I've played around with the red/blue dial on the middle vent, but doesn't behave right still.

As an example this morning, I set it to 20, and once warmed up starts kicking out the heat under the steering wheel, then that cools off, immediately followed by the fan kicking even harder to blow cold out the dash vents.

It would be worth getting the fault codes read for the heater in my opinion, any good BMW specialist or main dealer will be able to help you with it.

Usual common problems are Final stage resistor but it doesn't sound like it in your case.
