Hi, i have a bmw 330d sport 2003 auto, the gearbox has packed in, i have found another. Its from a 2004 model with the bigger engine 2992cc mine is the 2926cc . They are both 5 speed but are they interchangable?

(dont qoute me on the engine sizes i know they are close)

To confirm 100% we really need the last 7 digits of the chassis number from both vehicles to determine which box they have. I tried checking your vehicle and noticed that there are two different engines fitted on the 2003.

You could always check here http://www.realoem.com/bmw/select.do yourself. Great tool once mastered but sometimes you need to know specific details when doing a manual search which is why it is far easier to use with chassis numbers:thumbsup

As long as the gearbox part numbers are the same then yes, will be either of these A5S360R / A5S390R

the first part is the same a5s390r. but the actual part number is different.
