Hi guys,

Just a question, are the doors on an e46 coupe supposed to lock automatically like on most cars nowadays? Mine don't...any ideas on whether they should/shouldn't?

That is called the drive away locking or anti hijack feature. You need to have it enabled in the car memory by a specialist or dealer. Later models can have this done through the OBC settings using the stalk.

Yes, your car is geared up for this and I think it costs about £30 for up to 3 settings. Get them to print out the what's enabled or disabled in the car memory. Sometimes, if you ask nicely after a service, they may do it FOC :thumbsup. Highly unlikely though. :hihi

You can self set on the E9x models onwards. Dealer setting for E46 I'm afraid :frown

There are some quite useful key/car memory settings you can ask for....google them or look in the manual.

you can also get autologic to do it. If you have folding missors you can get them to fold up when you lock the car too
