Hi everyone.

I have recently replaced a faulty e46 318 ignition coil. I replaced it with a genuine BMW part as the one that went wasn't a genuine part. Car runs on now and doesn't sound like it is running on 3 cylinders any more, only problem is on the last 3 cold starts i have had it is wanting to almost stall. The revs will go up as usual when turned over and car starts but then revs drop to almost juddering stall but then it catches itself. Is there something i have done wrong when replacing the coil to cause this? i just cant think of what to do.

cheer Mike

p.s does this look normal to took off the filler cap and see some creamy oil.

looks normal and without a scan of your ECU it could be summat you have done or may have disturbed tho..

it smells like an Iffy sensor or MAF or vacuum leak scenario but without a diags scan hard to pinpoint..

may sound dumb like but have you refitted that cap properly in the picture??
