Hi all,

hope the cold is not getting the better of your pride and joy ! !

I've just realised that altho my 525D 2003 has only done around 20k since last service, and the light has now come on. looking back at the service record, she is 1 year over an oil change...not good i know....

the burning question:

can i use an oil flush ?

oh yea, and Happy Newyear to you all ! let hope it's a good year !

cheers

Some people don't rate oil flushes while others do, we used to use Forte oil flush which was good and had no problems, others say it loosens the cr*p up and it then gets in your delicate bits, ohh err :eek

Probably best to ring the dealers and see what they say/suggest :cool

All those flushes and detergent oils all aim at removing all that build up of gunk and carbon. On high millage cars and tractors the gunk and crap is holding the engine together! I would just do an oil change ASAP, I wouldn't flush it.

thanks for all the info,

she's done 70k, but i've not had a service on her since i owned the car.

so think i will get the garage to use a flush.

my concern was with any residue, like oil coolers etc. Don't want to wreck the new oil when it goes back in !

cheers
