Hi.
Can anyone give me some advice re connecting my Blackberry to my six series via Bluetooth (for phone calls only)? How much am I looking at if I go to my nearest BMW dealership? Or, is it wise to hand over the BM to the local Carphone Warehouse!! -are they equipped to carry out a proper install via the iDrive? Any advice would be great. Cheers.:thumbsup

Silly question Nurds - Are you asking to retrofit bluetooth to your 6 series because you haven't got it?

I would be surprised if a car like yours does not already have bluetooth installed....

On another note I would never let anyone but official or independant BMW specialists touch my i-drive, they could seriously f it up. REd :)

Well, I'm assuming we're talking about a retrofit because if it already had Bluetooth capabilities wouldn't my Blackberry 'discover' it and wouldn't it just be a case of connecting and pairing?? The car is five years old, so i'm thinking a factory fit is unlikely. How will I know if a previous owner has had a retrofit? Lets assume I'm using a BMW dealership - how much are we talking? I like to go into these things armed with some facts!! Any help please??

Hi Nurds - sorry for the late reply

The easiest way to find out is phone a main dealer parts department and give them your car reg. Ask them how much it will cost to retrofit a bluetooth phone kit etc and double check with them if you already have it installed??!?

I dunno how much it would cost mate, sorry. Maybe someone else can suggest a way of testing if Nurds' car has bluetooth? Red :)
