I am trying to locate the BM 24 radio module as its sound is cutting out. I believe it is a dry solder problem that is relatively common and can be fixed by the right skilled person.

I have looked under the existing CD Changer and Sat nav module for the radio module in the boot area on the left rear side but it is not there. Can anyone direct me to its location and if possible instruct me on how to remove it.

Would appreciate any help.

Thanks in advance

Replied on BMW land, but here's a copy for anyone searching :

In the E46 touring the radio module is under the boot floor.

Remove boot floor and the cover over the spare wheel. There are three plastic nuts holding down the small section of floor at the back of the boot. Undo these nuts and fold the floor towards the front of the car. The radio module is on the left hand side.
A 2003 could well have a BM54 though.

BM54

It is in fact a BM54 not 24.

Is anyone familiar with this sound cutting out issue with this model as well as the 24?

If so is there a fix other than replacement, I've tried resoldering the dry solder joints but no joy.
