Hope someone can help on this one - all of a sudden yesterday my PDC stopped working - when I press the PDC button I get a long beep then the green LED on the button just flashes. Exactly the same happens when I select reverse - it only beeps once on initial selection....then nothing. Many thanks.

one or more of your sensors have gone faulty.....same thing happened with mine recently.

if 1 goes out the whole circuit goes, similar to xmas lights!!

I have been told one way to check which rear pdc sensors have gone it by putting the car into 2nd switch of the ignition and select reverse, put your ear next to each sensor and the one which does not make the 'clicking' noise is out.

Hi Dav Rai I have a similar problem on a similar car. Have put my ear next to each sensor this morning turns out 3 front sensors not clicking other 5 are clicking. What should I do now? Is there a chanse of getting them from ebay and fitting myself or I have to go to BMW dealer and let them do the job? how much could it cost me?
Thanks in advance

Cost is approx £50-55 each sensor and a reset is required by BMW or specialist. I used my specialist previously to supply and fit. At least that way if anything goes wrong afterwards you can just take it back to them and not be chasing an ebayer from Japan or wherever.

many thanks for the info - I will wait until the big thaw before I start finding out which sensor has failed.

The sensors operate in parallel. If one goes, it does not mean the others stop working. Also, if the PDC control unit has already been coded by MoDIC or DIS, then I very much doubt it would require re-coding if an original sensor is fitted.
