Discussion Starter #1
Hi,
My car won't start after it has been parked for a while and still hot.
The engine management light comes on when the starter is turning and the engine doesn't even attempt to start.
I then have to leave it for an hour or so to go fully cold and then it will start easily.
It never misses starting first thing in a morning.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Sounds like a pre supply pump located under passenger seat. But on diesels could be a number of thinks injectors, cam sensor crank sensor fuel pressure regulator etc i would get fault codes read.

Get the codes read as stated above, however I would put my money on the crank sensor failing as a non hot start is associated with inductive coil deterioration, a fully failed sensor would of course cause a permanant non start by disabling the fuel supply.

Try cam shaft sensor[around £50-£60] Really easy to do and had same problem with my 525d and cured the problem
