intercooler on 330d 2001 how easy to remove and clean ?

They can be a swine if corroded, When I had to remove my front end on my E36 325tds I removed the radiator and cooler together as I thought I may damage the cooler if I added any more forcer

I also removed the expansion tank with the radiator as it had the stoooooooopid BMW clips that have to be cut off to remove the pipe and I didn't have any jubilee clips:frown
