hi all i noticed the other day that when i put my foot down in 3rd gear i heard a pinking noise is this normal? not noticed it in other gears but only in 3rd and when driving about 30 and like i said foot down pinking occurs

try some decent fuel if your putting normal octane stuff in it....

when were the spark plugs changed last?

yes been putting the duff usual stuff in.so maybe a trip to shell for a good few visits to see what there stuff is like.plugs were done about 4 months ago.not sure which were used as not long had the car mind you it was from a dealer so maybe i should service soon for peace of mind

I've tried Shell Optimax, BP Ultimate and all the usual ones. Noticable improvement over the usual 95 RON stuff.

However, my car seems to run even better on the Tesco Momentum (99 RON), but surprisingly runs the best on the Total Excellium, which is only 97 RON. This stuff is like rocket fuel in my car.

Try it out...
