Hi fellow beemers, Have`nt been on for a while as car has behaved well for twelve months until I noticed the telltale warning light appear for radiator water level low.carried out an inspection and the expansion tank was split in two sections. Ordered a new tank together with level switch and top hose .Fitted the items with no hassle but there seems to be a drip from the level switch which is based on the underside of the tank. There doesn't seem to be any sealing rubber with assembly when fitted so is there a separate rubber ring I am missing or has the tank been modified.I don`t remember seeing one on dismantling and the switch slots in great with an anticlockwise twist. Hope someone can advise me as it`s driving me mad----cheers--oldtimer44.

When i , i think it about stgÂŁ70 on Amazon but i got the genuine article for about eur?110.

I bought 3rd party products on the "assumption" that BMW are ripoff merchants. I actually bought a new battery from BMW last year. It was only about 20% more expensive than a never heard of brand one from my local motor factors.

So it seems to me that BMW parts are around 20% more expensive but it's worth it to get it right first time, and for the part to last and perform as expected.

It's on labour that they clobber you if you get them do something.
