Hi guys

When I bought my service stuff from gsf 2 weeks ago, i noticed that the fuel filter was more or less the same as the oil filter, both of them being that paper stuff and yellow, they were both mann filters.

My mechanic fitted it however im now curious as to whether there are two fuel filters? I saw an advert on ebay saying choice of two filters.

Also I googled this before and someone else was curious why they had been given a paper filter and not a metal fuel filter.

That's because the metal canister filters were introduced in the M47N engines to replace the paper ones in the M47 engines emphasis. Your engine was revised in 2001 to the newer one.

thats great news this now means I can change my filter in the space of two minutes as its extremely easily accessible and costs under 8quid from gsf.
