Folks,
As above, wanted to remove this for some time as its rusting and wanted to clean and repaint. It seems the bracket itself is held on via the 2 bolts on the wing, 2 trox screws at the wing side and a torx on the engine side.

Having removed all these the bracket would appear to just slide away from the palstic fuel filter housing but no budge, am I missing something or is it just "welded" to it with the rust...

Obviously dont want to go bashing around near there as its delicate an full of fuel!!!

anyone? I can't be the only one who's attempted this, this bracket is rusty on every E46 I;ve seen

It does but it's not exploede enough to see how its attached...I thought maybe there was a lip that it slid down on but as I said I dont want to push too much.

Also the housing is plastic and the bracket metal so surprise if there wa that much holding if the bracked was rusted
