i have 540i se auto with factory fitted xenons and foglights (round ones)
i know i can change angel lights to brighter ones - no problem
but i wanto to imrpove main beam and fogs
been onto various web sites and am confused
i just want to fit plug in replacements
halfords are doing extreme brilliance range (buy one get one free) and i am thinking of fitting them into fogs and main beam, they are H7 477 which is said to beb ok by one web site but halfords literature says need 9005(or 6 forgot) for main beam and other web sites say someting different again.
can someone out there please tell me definitivley what i can fit please for main beam and foglights

Have a look at the back of the headlight units - the 9005/HB3 and 9006/HB4 lights have 'L' shaped plastic bases and have a bayonet style locking fitting, the H7 fitting is the more conventional car lamp fitting with a plug on socket. FWIW i've just bought the halfords '+50%' lamps (HB3, main driving lamp) and they are an improvment over the conventional 'yellow' driving lamp.
