Hi, can any one tell me the proceedure on how to remove the radio on a 530d e39 please.

I need to remove a nokia hands free kit which is fitted through the radio opening.

I don't and I'm running various different AV software on different PCs, does not mean it's not though.

Yeah, my Grisoft AVG flags up something - I used a guide for radio removal.

They talk about turning an allen key 90 degrees - I found mine had to go around quite a few times like undoing a screw.

I took the whole cage out because I wanted to lose the sprung door and improve the lines of the dashboard. (scuse me while I take a pic to put in this post)

I did this because the head unit volume control was too big to let the door shut properly.

Ive had a quick look tonight and it looks like my stereo is one complete unit, is it the same to remove ?

Righy then, ive had a go this morning and the radio/cassette player is one unit. there is a small hole above the volume knob with the release mech in (you here it click) but when you try to remove ther is something holding it firm at the top. Any ideas ?

Just an update, got the radio out today after much pulling and found IT DOES NOT PIVOT OUT .You have to put a screw driver in the hole above the volume control and turn it 90 degrees then PULL IT STRAIGHT, the only problem i had is the mupet who fitted the handsfree kit had brocken the release mech and glued it back together.
Anyway all done now and thanks for your help.
