Hi guys

Ive been thinking about a remap to get a bit more power on my car, I was going to pay a company to do it but am now thinking to save the money and buy one of the tools off of ebay.

Ive seen this item and also this

What do you guys think of the 2 and which one would you say is better?

Also ive read that these sort of ebay kits are dangerous, would you recommend staying clear completely or give it a go?

Thank you

i did something similar to to you on my saab 9000 years ago, i fried my ECU! Be careful, if you fry your ecu, i bet you wish you had'nt bothered attempting it.

It may seem cheaper to diy it, but it could cost you more in the long run if things go tits up.

Hi

Try these guys out Celtictunning I have used them twice now once on my previous car a 320d Sport 2004 they took the Bhp From 150 to 200 I’ve also just had my wife’s 1 Series Bmw done the performance gains are amazing it also makes the car more drivable i.e. No flat spots etc, even my Wife loves the increased Torque .

PS I’m not trying to tread on Mikes toes just offering a different option for you.

That how they get past the BMW check some..

Bmw dealers know its been mapped this way.. And its a bit old skool now..

All Bmws we do are done via the port...

There will be marks on the ECU on the screw heads and also there is a seal holding the ECU together.. That wont be there.

Thats of there looking for it..

Are we talking about a rolling road re-map now guys ?
i had my 1999 320d 136bhp custom mapped to a verified 163bhp (at 150k miles).

You may also want to look into getting an EGR bypass valve for your car.
My engine is still running cleanly at 183k miles
