Hi guys newbie here looking for some help please?

Just bought a 2001 318iSE and two electrical problems.

Firstly the yellow exhaust gases warning light comes on immediately the key is inserted, prior to start up and then stays on permanently. I have receipts showing the lambada sensor has been replaced about 5k ago, which was the second time it was replaced, any ideas, is this a potentially dangerous fault requiring urgent attention?

Secondly when using the washers only the near side spays water, not the drivers side, have checked the pipe connections but can not see any loose pipes etc?

The emissions light is on because the Engine ECU has picked up a fault, the only way to find the problem is to get the fault codes read at a good BMW specialists or a main dealer, then post the problems here and we can help you further.

How does the engine run/idle? any loss in power?

Thanks for that, the car runs and idles perfectly, there is no loss in power at all.

Excuse my ignorance but can I just take the car in and ask them to read the codes and let me know what they are?

Yes you can take the car in and they will tell you what codes came up, they should give you a copy of them.

I bought my car recently and the passenger side jets were not working so i unplugged the water feed tube from the jets to see if the water was getting to the jets when i turned them on. It was - so that meant that the jet was faulty. I tried to clean the jets with a thin piece of wire but they still didn't work. Ended up getting a replacement from the dealers! Switched them - Job Done!!
