Good morning everyone

Every time as I start engine, yellow oil light (oil level) keeps coming for about 10 seconds. I often check oil level but it's ok (just beneath the max level).

Can anyone give me any advise?

it is probably a faulty sensor; see how much a new sensor is or just leave it - as long as the oil level is OK and the red oil light is not on then you should be OK.

Mine's been doing that for 2 years, hasn't really bothered me. As said, keep an eye on your oil level using the dipstick :thumbsup

At anything above tickover then it means you will probably need a new engine. The red light is an indication of the oil pressure in the engine and it only comes on when the pressure has gone down to such a low level that damage is inevitable - at anything above tickover. It is a bit of a useless warning light in that regard - we would be better with an oil pressure gauge that would give you earlier warning. Best advice if the red light comes on when running - turn it off quick as you can and say a prayer.

also when replacing it the engine control unit should be re coded this can be done by the dealers or any specialists with the equipment

Yes, when you buy one from the dealers it has a piece of paper in the bag which has information relating to the new part which tells you to re-code the engine control module depending upon the age of the car.

This is only true on some E39 and E53 models where the LCM requires re-coding after sensor change, not applicable to E46 models.
