Hi, I have recently purchased a E46 318i se, there seems to be a problem with the heater. When I turn the temperature down the heater still blasts out hot air.. even when on 16 degrees, the only way I can cool the cabin down is by turning the fan off altogether and opening the window. I have looked through the other forums and someonw suggested that it is possibly a fault with the water valve. Has anyone got any knowlege of this problem? How much would a water valve cost me and is it an easy fix?

Yes, it could be down to your heater valve item no. 4 HERE. You can see if the voltage is going into the solenoid circuit that is built in first, then maybe dimantle and giving it a clean before purchasing a new one. It will cost about £60 from the dealer...cheaper from ECP or GSF. Located below the airbox and it will just unhook from the receptacle :thumbsup
