Hi,

I have just purchased a 2000-reg E46 318Ci. The driver side door will not stay fully open if I pull open the door - it keeps trying to close itself from the weight of the door. The passenger door is fine and stays open. This is on relatively flat ground. Any ideas people can suggest please?

Sounds like number 5 here is broke, http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=BL32&mospid=47610&btnr=41_1265&hg=41&fg=40 or the bolt number 8 is missing so the brake isn't working, have a check and let us know.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I had a look this morning but as it was dark it wasn't very clear. Sorry for the stupid question but could I check that part 8 is the one on the end connected to the main bodywork rather than the door? It looks like it is there but will check parts again in better light. L

8 should indeed be connected to the body :thumbsup
