So ive installed some alarm leds into my indicators a few weeks ago and i now need a wiring diagram of the alarm to see which cables to tap into for the factory led light does anybody know where to find it or even better tell me which colour they are.

First I assume that you have some way dropped the 12V to the 1.8V so you don't burn the LED out. Please describe how you did that as it may become relevant to solving your problem.

Secondly the pin 9 GR/SW/GE DWAL is open collector active low so the voltage on it will float when the alarm is off.

Finally the LED should not remain on when the alarm is off because there is no path to GND.

Tests to make: What voltage do you measure at the LED positive pin to GND and negative pin to GND when the alarm is off?

You will need a series resistor, the value of which you calculate with the I(Forward, mA) of your LED and V(Forward, Volts). These values are different for every LED. This will go in line with the positive pin of the LED.

Your test LED will be damaged and should not be used for the final installation.

I have been speaking to an alarm specialist whos working nearby about these leds and he told me that it wont be possible to get them running as there is no clannel outs on the bmw alarm systems is this true that there would be no way i could get them working :frown:confused
