I own a 535i 'M' Sport. I have had had the car for just over two years and although it is eight years old, it has been very reliable and certainly great fun to drive. However, last night the external temperature indicator on the dash shot up from 2 degrees to 30 degrees and then in about a minute returned back to 2 degrees. The car wasn't overheating though I did seem to feel a blast of warm air against my right leg when it temporarily increased.

Would anyone know why this would happen? Is it just a quirky one-off occurence or should I be worried that it is something more serious?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

David

I'd keep an eye on that David. It may be a 'wobbly' but then again it could be signs of a faulty external temperature sensor. If it happens again, have the codes read.
