Hi,

I will shortly be picking up a E46 330cd M Sport.

Whilst at the dealership I noticed that the drivers door window would intermittently drop all the way into the door when you used the exterior door handle to open the door, once the door was closed the window went fully up. The majority of times the window dropped the 'normal' amount to clear the frame/seal.

Any ideas what may cause this?

If you press the 'open' button twice it will drop the whole way, a function to ease access in car-parks, etc,

Were you unlocking the car with the key in the door lock or using the central locking on the fob?

I unlocked the car with the key fob, I'm not certain how many times I pressed the button.

If the button was pressed twice, would the window remain up until you opened the door-or retract straight away with the door still closed?

If the button was pressed and held down on the fob then the window would go down until you let go off the button.

It could be a door barrel problem. There's a switch on the barrel/handle so you can wind the windows down by turning and holding the key in the unlock position. See if it works on yours. :thumbsup

The handle can be removed without taking off the door card, so you could check the switch on the handle/barrel unit.
