Hi,
Car: 1999 E39 523i
I have a strange issue with my radio. It doesnt switch on at all now. Checked all fuses and they are OK. Strangely there also does not seem to be any power to the CD changer. Tried ejecting the cartridge and ........nothing.

Both were working fine a week or so ago. Now both gone at the same time.

Any ideas? Where does the changer get it power from? It is connected to the battery somehow? I get the feeling somehow both are linked but have no clue where.

Thoughts/ideas appreciated.

Regards

Did you check for power at both side of the fuse? I usually use a light tester.

Have you checked to see if there is a fuse on the back of the head unit?

Does the head unit have any power?

:thumbsup

The fuses didnt have a "break" in them so assumed they were fine. Swapped with new fuses as well. No joy.

Not sure how to check for the fuse at the back of the headunit and dont know how to remove the headunit. Unit has no power at all.
