Hi,

After much searching I just can't find the internal fuses on my e36.

The heater fan is not working. I've bridged the connector to the FSU (top left to bottom middle and top right to bottom right) but the fan won't come to life.

I'm looking for the 40amp fuse for the heater blower. A few people have asked it's location and then said that they've fond it but not said where it is.

I've removed the glove box and the drivers lower trim. I just can't see for looking.

Can anyone point me in the right direction????

40A blower fuse? :confused. If I were you, I would check out the blower relay and the 30A fuse powering it. Both of these can be found in the engine bay fuse box. The relay supplies power to the FSU through the blower switch. This could be at fault too.

There should be a 40amp fuse for the main blower supply behind the glove box apparently, with some other relays and large fuses but I can’t find it. It would be nice to locate it for future reference and for others. There seems to be a few people who can’t find it.

Anyway. After a little more messing today I think the motor is U/S. :hissyfit

30amp fuse (location 20) OK.
Hedgehog bridged..... Nothing.
Relay 9 bridged......... Nothing.
Stripped the front scuttle panels off to get a look at the motor. Carefully put my finger in to see if it was seized. Turned it by hand 1/4 of a turn and away she span. All settings working OK but motor sounds a little vocal. Turn it off and go to turn it on again and there’s nothing until you give it a manual turn.

I'll update when I've done it.

Sounds like your blower is the problem. No sign of 40A fuse in the wiring diagrams either.

Yes mate. Just looking at the swap out now.

The main fuse box cover says that fuses 47 to 50 are located inside the car (mentions LHD and RHD). Sorry I don't have the lid to hand at the moment.

This will show you that the fuse values for RHD cars. Looks like 40A is for LHD...possibly US models.
