hi people new to this form, ive got my hands on a bmw 318 is coupe 99 E36, now ive had a look at this site and found the final stage resistor seems to be the problem. thing is ive got the part but the wires came out of the plug that goes into the resistor, (only have the car a week and like this before i do anything) ive been to bmw them selfs and they gave me a diagram for a E46 (total drifferent resistor) so went back and they said they hadnt got the diagrams because its too old.. does anyone know wer i can get them or even better do they know where the wires go into what holes on the plug. they are numbered 1-5 and the wires under the glove box are brown, blue/red, yellow/green, green/brown, yellow brown.. if yous could help me out it would be great as ive tryd every thing and looked everywhere and looks like if i dont find it out here i wont have a heater in my car ever again.. plz help me out lads im really stuck.. What's the actual problem you're having with the heater??

If you have dual-zone climate control like I do then mine turned itself on and off and behaved erratically and the screen would sometimes go very dim...got it repaired for £35 + postage by a bloke who's fixed loads of them.

i just need to find out which wires go where in the final stage resistor plug.. like the resistor was out and the wires out of the plug before i got the car, ive only had the car for a week or so now.. the last owner had a go but he never got them resister, wheres i did get it and now want to put it all back together.. if you could look at yours and see which colour goes were..

doesn't look like the same diagram as whats in the car, i've put a meter across the pins and i'm getting a different reading of ohms then whats showing in the diagram.. bear in mind when i went to get the part they came out with a different one then what was in the car.. now as far as i know they upgraded the part so looks a little different away.. the cables that i have in the car that looked to been used at one stage is, green/brown (gn/br), blue/red (bl/rt), yellow/brown (ge/br), green/yellow (gn/ge) and brown. they all look like 1.5 maybe 2.5 and the blue/red looks like 0.35... like i said its been hard to find out WTF is going on with this.. keep geting different diagrams and stuff..

Ok got it sorted, heater works fine now, like to thank the above for the help and the site was spot on, had what I was looking for and easy to use.. Nice1.. Nice and warm now
