Hi everybody

I have a E36 318 late 1999 (v) convertable.

I think some history is needed before anyone can help.

the head gaskit had gone and so i desided to install a 2L engine.

have installed the engine, gearbox ECU EWSII diff and prop. starts great runs wonderfully but :mad

the rev counter is reading wrong. ( the rev counter is counting 4 cyl and not 6 cyl)

so when i'm going 70MPH im reving about 6500RPM which is wrong.

the clocks i have are 140MPH dails, black back.

the clocks from the 320 donna are also 140MPH dails but the back is light blue.

when i plug the other clocks in the car wont start.

dose anyone know how to get the correct revs on the clocks is there a jumper or something or do i need to get then programed to the system. thanks

Summo

blue one is a VDO cluster and the black one is a Motometer, A20 had to change the clocks on his M3 conversion and had no problems so I would say you need black 6 cylinder ones
