Hi, I am new to the forum and thinking about buying a 528 with around 100k miles. Is there anything I should be looking for, other than full service history?

What sort of mileage can you expect from one of these? Is 100k a lot for these cars?

I currently drive a Skoda Octavia vRS tdi, so a rear wheel drive petrol car will be a complete change for me! But driving a Skoda means that I am used to VW/Audi reliability.

I tried searching for this subject but I couldn't find anything, so sorry if it has been covered before!!:cool

what sort of year is the car?
biggest thing to check is that it idles smoothly
mileage not a problem with these engines if the service book is full of stamps

year is 1999 on a couple that I have seen. But some are 2000 models. I would prefer the 2000 model due to the updated headlights.

the E39 is as solid as a tank tbh...mile munchers extrordinaire
if its been fettled by bmw all its life its about bullet proof engine wise

only mention of the 2.8 is the earlier 'nikasil' engines which yours wont have
