Hi Guys,

Right this has bugger all to do with my beemer, but a Q for the missis car (1988 mk2 golf) I have a spare set of wheels for the shed so am going to be ordering some winter tyres within the next day, prices start at around £40 per corner and get them fitted at mates rates so its WIN WIN really.

I'll be putting the tyres on a set of 14" steel wheels, the tyres on there are 2 x 1756514 and 2 x 1856014 dont know why!

What would be the best winter tyre size to put on? I was just about to press the button on ordering 1756514 all round but thought id ask the question to you knowledgeble lot ;):thumbsup

Thanks in advance,
Seb.

ps. could ask this on the mk2 forum im on, but BFuk is always the quickest and best:D

I personaly would go thinner! Thick tyres tend to sit on the snow.
14" tyres are very dinky anyway (well specially compared to my 19s) think im going to go for 175/65/14s all round! ?:thumbsup
