Hi there,

Fixing a few problems on my new car. e36 328i.... The car is sometimes hesitant to kick down, or seems to have a 'lag'. Some times it only kicks down into one gear below when i think it should go down by two if that makes sense?

Do you think disconnecting the battery will force the trans ECU to relearn? or is there a chance something needs adjusting to fix the problem?

Not sure how sophisticated the software is for the gearbox on these, but some auto need time to adjust to another persons driving style etc. May be worth contacting your local dealer and asking them if any software updates are applicable to your car etc.

Would also be worth getting the fault codes read for the engine and gearbox
