I use Powerflex and swear by them. I also have upgraded to Eibach anti-roll bars and H&R coilovers:D

Some of them can be an absolute arse to change:thumbsup

The bushes are supplied with their own lube IIRC.

The hardest part is removing the old units:hihi

The new bushes come in two pieces so you literally fit one half into one side of it's new home and the other half in the other side:thumbsup

The new bushes go in a lot easier than replacing for BMW replacements:D

hi all.
How do you know when you need a new set of bushes etc?
Im thinking of lowering my car and maybe replacing bushes etc at the same time just because it they might need doing.
Dont think any have been changed in past and my car is 2000 model.

As you have a Compact the rear end set up is different from regular e36s, you have a e30 rear end, the bushes that can go on yours are the Rear Beam Bushes, number 3 here http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=CS12&mospid=47452&btnr=33_0999&hg=33&fg=30.

Usually the rubber splits away from the aluminium centre tube that runs through the centre of the bush
