ey up lads just a quickie,which way up do i put the upper intake manifold gasgets,iv had it off a few times so they need changing so i have new 1s ready to put on.also when i ordered the new cam sensor from bmw i never reallised u had to pay for that little rubber ring seperate so it never came with 1(typical)is they any harm in using the old rubber ring?its not worn or split cause iv had the old sensor off.cheers
its on a bmw e36 318is 1998 by the way x

I changed the camshaft sensor on my 328i and reused the o ring as it looked fine and it hasnt started leaking so if it looks ok then bung it on the new sensor.

Bentley Manual doesnt have a pick im afraid. If you look at the mating surface of the manifold can you not see by that which way it goes round. The port holes might be the same which ever way up you put it but you should be able to see the shape of the old gasket on the face of it.

yeah true unless its squashed like a pancake lol thanks for ya help mate im just checking the old haynes manual now haha
