hi i saw in a pbmw mag a wile ago and a guy who had a e36 318is made a set of itbs for his car from m3 throttle bodies by cutting out the middle 2 throttle bodies does any one have an idea on how this is done and how much work is involved?
It's a fair bit of work and only worth it on an already tuned motor. You would also have to design and build an intake plenum and figure out how to map it. Trying to get the car to run anywhere near as well as stock would be a right mare.
hi thanks for the answers so far as you said about it running rite would a re map not sort that and i also want to try and get some uprated cams and that in the future so do you no what sort of work is needed to do is my bro is a mechanic so he said he will help me .
For ITB's your looking at a standalone ECU really.
Cams give good gains, a remap would also help get the most out of the cams but the car would run without. Would be worth checking the cams are suitable for the M44 as Kent and Piper only used to do them for the M42. Be aware that the car will not idle as well (mind you M44's were never that steady to begin with!). Will also be a bit peakier.
