Hi

I am planning to do the following jobs:

new Brake Fluid
new Microfilter (climate control)
new fuel filter
new coolant / anti freeze flush

I rang up Cooks Ferry (told them I had the M44 engine), but they told me there are 2 types of fuel filters (long and short version). How can I tell which fuel filter is on my car? (ring BMW with VIN or is it in the manual which I don't have on me?)

Also, apart from buying the above replacements fluid & filters, are there any clips or small parts worth replacing doing the above jobs? rad drain plug maybe?

Thanks
Tom

Your fuel filter will be long, think the short ones are pretty rare.
If you're doing a coolant flush i would recommend changing the thermostat, and possibly the water pump too. Use only genuine BMW coolant also. Rad drain plug will not need replacing unless the O-ring splits (very unlikely), in which case you can replace it seperately from the plug.
