I want to reset the mpg counter on the car, 1998 E39 540, but when I select cons1 then press and hold the obc button it just says "prog".

Any ideas what this means and how I go about resting the obc?

do you have the MID? if so press the cons1 button, then set, then cons1 again. pressing BC will set up your favourites to show on the dash display

I think I know what you mean though, I get all the OBC options displayed on the radio.

yeah sorry thats the kiddie. thats how it worked on my old 7 series anyway.
