I have read the Pelican Technical Article on replacing the head gasket - but it looks like it is based on the 6 cylinder engine.
Mine is the 4 cylinder - will it be a similar operation, or are there any hidden snags with the 4-pot?

Also - torque settings for the bolts? Again there are references to the 6 cylinder but not the 4.

I am replacing the gasket tomorrow and hoping for a hassle free session!

What engine code mate:

If its a M40,43,M42:

Stage 1 - 30 nm
Stage 2 - tighten 90 deg
Stage 3 - tighten 90 deg
Satge 4 - take a break, have a KitKat.

Tighten bolts in this order:

7 5 1 3 9

10 4 2 6 8

number are laid out to represent head bolt locations and they are numbered according to tightening sequence.
