I am considering doing the vanos seal on my single vanos m52 that has done 125k, had the codes read a few months ago and got the vanos mechanically jammed code, reset that and cleaned the vanos solenoid connection but still feels like it struggles at low revs but above 3500ishrpm it goes really well so I am looking for any advice/experience from anyone who has done this job.
I can get the tool kit for about £85, vanos seal and rattle kit for £30 but no prices for all the other gaskets. At that money is it worth trying to hire the kit? Or what sort of money for a garage to do it?
I have watched a few YouTube videos and it looks fairly straight forward up to the vanos timing and repositioning part and that seems to need precision more than anything, are the videos accurate enough to be usefull?
