Hi guys,
I have no spare key for my BMW 540i, and futhermore my one and only key is starting to wear pretty quickly and the lock and alarm button does not work. What are my option for replacing the key ?

A - Can i get a new key without the expense of BMW
B - I noticed ones advertising keys on ebay from China - Any good ?
C - If getting a new key can i get it updated to one of the latest key models, where the key folds in etc ?
D - What price are we looking at here ?
E - How do i prevent from having to send my only key away for a period of time when they create a new key ?
F - Anyone any good sites / contacts who can help me here ?

Thanks

Peter

A. BMW around £100 I think
B. The key will need to be coded to the car otherwise it won't start it, if may open it if it's a blank and you have it cut but not start the car due to the EWS not picking up the built in chip.
C. Don't know
D. See above
E. BMW won't need your key
