I've suffered the ritual slip out of the guides that most E36 owners suffer at some point. Removal of the door panel and trim was relatively straightforward, as was the removal of the glass, replacement of the guides and slotting it back in. Trouble is that one of the metal guides is jammed to the front half of the glass, while the other isn't. What happens is that it just carries on slipping out of the guides. Which should be correct; the jammed in guide or the loose guide, for freedom of movement? If it needs to be stuck, what is best to get it struck on and if it's to be freed up, what's the best way to free it?
