If you are able to push start the car, then it does not sound like an Immobiliser/EWS fault.........I'm guessing that you have a factory alarm/immob?

could be a starter problem or even a prob with the ignition switch.

The starters are pretty fiddley to get at on the beemers but what you need to do is find out whether you are getting a ground to the starter when turning the key.....if not then you would have a prob with the ignition.
If the ground does switch over to the starter when the key is turned to the start position.............your started is shot.

its an intermitant fault
sometimes if i press the alarm fob and retry to start it does then
sometimes if i just leave it for a while it starts i only push start it when im in a rush when it wont start

was thinking starter relay but can not find it looked under dash os and ns

The DME(ECU) takes the place of the starter relay on your car(in other words you have no starter relay, it's built in with the ECU)

On some models, ECP do ignition switches- worth a shot.
