The bit I don't really get is that as far as I can see it is to protect the area of the car that it covers so it doesnt get stonechips and look bad. But Putting one of these on makes the car look bloody awful while it is on. Anyone taking a picture of it at this time will not likely be doing it so that they can show how good it looks, so you are likely to see your car in someone elses thread one day with a less than glowing comment attached. I dont think I have ever seen any stone chips on any BMW that looked as bad as a bonnet condom.

Google invsible film or Ventura shield, this is thin nvisible filw that you fit to your car to stop stone chips and it is so tough it will stop car v's wall damaging your paintwork-honest!
I have it fitted to my motorbike and it is fantastic stuff and very east to fit diy, and you can remove it if you want. They specialise in the rear bumpers of estates and the leading edges of the bonnet and bumpers basically the areas which are more prone to damage!
Highly recommended but I haven't tried it on a car.

i have looked into this as i really like the stateside look, but these guys are right. after researching they just dont look right on a bimmer. there are two types. one which just covers the lip of your bonnet and a full bra. the smaller version is ok...but the full bra just isnt right and it sounds like you need eight hands to get under your hood anyway. you'd be much better off spending the £160 elsewhere.
