Hey guys

I'm having some major issues with the barrel lock/central locking on my E36. The barrel lock on the driver side is completely jammed, and the passenger side one will only turn to lock the car; which obviously I don't want to do as I won't be able to open it again.

My mechanic has suggested sourcing the barrel locks/door handles as complete units, but I'm not having much luck outside of foreign shops on eBay with lengthy delivery times and high shipping costs-along with suspect descriptions of the parts.

Does anyone have any experience with finding a solution to this issue?

If changing the locks & handles seems like a lost cause, is there a way of converting to remote central locking? This seems like a safer/more practical solution in general, but I'm unsure of costs and how easy it would be to do, if at all possible!

Any advice would be appreciated.
