Hey, I was just wondering if it is possible to get the alarm to 'chirp' when I lock and unlock the car?

I have a 318is with what I believe to be the Sigma 2T or 3T alarm system, it has a single-button grey alarm fob with 'Type AC110' written on the back.

Lack of "chirps" is either due to a worn-out back-up battery or the alarm hasn't been programmed to do that. If the latter then a specialist Sigma programmer is required.
