Ive seen a post on this but where my car is i cant get it jacked up and i changed the oil cooler so now it wont drive with no oil! Just wondering if anyone with the same year and model couls help me out?

Ive had a look in the Autodata book and the drain/refill capacity is 3 litres.
Both of the books i have list the oil as Dexron 2. :thumbsup

Some are supposed to use the special lifetime oil. :frown
It may be worth giving BMW a quick ring and see if they can double check from your chassis number :thumbsup

Right i managed to get it up in the air and i cant find any form of sticker? Ive got a serial plate in black pop rivited to the side of the g/box? I phoned bmw and they said they need to know what sticker and when i phoned back the lad had gone and there was only "malcolm" (guessing the cleaner!) who had know idea what he was talking about! The box is stamped up ZF if that makes sence to anyone? apart from it being german!

Ive got a feeling the ZF box was listed in my book as the Dexron2. Ill double check it again for you tomorrow :thumbsup

The only thing is ive only seen and heard of dex 3 going in them....?

There are a couple of choices on the lables IIRC. I looked in Autodata and an oil book and it said d2 for a 320i. Ill double check the spec for the gearbox with no label :thumbsup

I knew i seen that somewhere!!!! I couldnt find it in the seaches!!! Mines on there mate dex 3!! Thanks alot for all your help mate!
