i currently have a 1994 e36 316i coupe. i have spent a great deal of cash on a full m-tec kit and i want to upgrade the engine to at least a 2.0 litre.
i know i will never get back the cash if i sell the car to upgrade to a larger engine so i need to know what kind of engine will fit.
any help would be greatly appreciated...........

325 is probably your best bet, most about of power for a realistic cost, I cant remember exactly wich model it is but you want the one without ews that way its a fairly straight forward swap, otherwise you will need a lot of donor parts to complete the swap ie loom, ecu/ews ignition and keys etc.
depending on how much power you want you could go for the 328i wich is 190bhp and can be tuned to 230-240 pretty easily, that involves more work tho.
