Dose anybody knows which is the widest tyre (on an 18" rim) can fit between the shocks and the madgards of an E34. I am running on 225/60/16 , now I have bought a set of 18" rims and don't know jet what profile I'm going for !

Dose 255/40/18 rear and 225/45/18 front will fitt ??

Hi emvin, where did you buy the wheels? Are they brand new and the correct fitment for your car? All the details will be stamped into the back of the wheel (8.5x18 ET46)

Most wheels are a perfect fit without the tyre:hihi

If you can supply me with the wheel sizes then I can do the calculations for you:thumbsup

Widest rear tyre you can fit is a 265/35 18 on the rear.

225/60 16 Rim Offset 20 V's 265/35 18 Rim Offset 15 = The edge of the new tyre will be 15mm closer to the inside of the wheel well and suspension components and 15mm further out from the edge of the bodywork.

Tyre size

225/60 16 Current Rolling Radius 338.20mm Current Circumference 2124.97

265/35 18 New Rolling Radius 321.35 New Circumference 2019.1

Difference in circumference = Minus 105.87mm or minus 4.98% (Ideal percentage should be + or - 2.5%)

So when your speedo reads 70mph, your vehicle will actually be travelling at 66.51 mph

PS Front tyre should be 235/40 18:thumbsup

I hope this helps
