In trying to resolve my ABS light being permenantly on I proceeded to clean the sensors, in doing this I noticed my brake sensor was not attached to anything. I attempted to re attach it but it just came loose again. I intend on replacing said sensor but could this also be responsible for the ABS light being on?

I've moved your thread to the correct forum, please have a read of the forum rules regarding posting in the correct sections http://www.bimmerforums.co.uk/forum/...delines-t1603/, the BMW Guides and How To's section is for guides for people to follow, like a cook book :hihi

Regarding your problem, the pad sensors won't affect the ABS, you will most likely have a failed wheel speed sensor or worse case a failed ABS pump, you will be best to get the ABS codes read at a good BMW specialists or good indy.

If you did want to try fault finding the problem then the ABS wheel speed sensors should measure approx 1000 - 1100 ohms at the sensor plug
