im in process of doing my wheel bearings and cant seem to get the hub off or remove the driveshaft from the hub as anyone got some sort of guide on how to do it as im stuck at moment
Have you undone the bolts at the inner end of the driveshaft? If yes then you need a BIG copper faced hammer to shift that driveshaft, it will most likely be rusty on the splines, making it tight to remove.
cheers for that ive undone the bolts at the diff but the drive shaft will not budge at all is it any different if i have drums on my car to the ones with discs?
Did you drop the driveshaft down at the inner joint so it cleared the diff? If yes then the driveshafts do get corroded in there so you do need to give it some real welly with a large copper hammer.
A steel hammer will ruin the driveshaft threaded end.
well ive spent last couple of days on this and no matter what i do the the driveshaft will not move its stuck in the hub is it worth me just getting a second hand hub and drive shaft and fit that instead saving me all this hassle?
