Hi, anyone know where i can get my aircon re-gassed? i took it the other day somewhere and apparently its the old system with the old gas, its a 1992 535i, any help would be good, thanks.

A few posts on here keep mentioning Kwik Fit and some sort of money back guarantee if they can't get it cold....something like that

If the specialist said it was R12 then the system would need converting, R12 is illegal now so you won't get it refilled, it will need converting to R145a

You can get retro-fit kits for the high and low pressure valves, but the R134 gas will dry out the seals on an R12 system in very short time....:frown

You may end up having to speak to a classic car specialist as a lot of old jags use R12 refrigerant..:cool

Thats right. It will work for a while then bugger up the whole system....:mad
